Bridal Hair Styles Focused

With formal hairstyling trends taking a step back from the rigidly crafted styles of yesterday, today's wedding hair styles are free, natural and a great deal easier to attain than they were a few years ago. But even though this is true, the bridal hair style is probably the most important style that you are going to choose for quite a while so it is best served by a little research and practice before the big day.

On your wedding day, hundreds of eyes will be on you, and your chosen bridal hair style can either complete the picture or detract from it. That is why it is so important to choose the perfect formal hairstyle well in advance of the big day so that you and your stylist can get it right and make custom additions to your wedding hair style. Nothing is worse than a hastily crafted coif decided upon only minutes before the ceremony.

You can begin your search for the perfect bridal hair styles and bridesmaid hair styles by browsing through style books that highlight formal updos and popular wedding hair styles. While looking, keep in mind the style of dress that you have selected and choose wedding hair styles that compliment the style, era and cut of the dress. The same thing goes for your bridesmaids dresses.

Another important thing to consider when choosing bridal hair styles are the styles, lengths and textures of the bridal party's hair. For example: if every member of the bridal party save one has short hair, selecting a French Twist as your only bridesmaid hair style would not be very feasible. But you could do a French Twist on the one member with long hair and select different wedding hair styles for the rest of the party as long as it doesn't bother you that everyone is not going to look identical.

When it comes to coordinating your wedding hair styles for your wedding party, you do not have to choose cookie-cutter styles for each member of the party. Look instead at bridal hair styles that compliment each member's personality, facial structure and hair texture. Let your wedding party members have some say in how they would like to wear their hair and set some practical guidelines such as whether or not the bridesmaid hair style should be pinned up off of the neck or allowed to flow free down the back.

Then, coordinate the individual bridal hair styles by using matching accessories and placing them in similar patterns on each member. These pointers apply for the bridal party only; the bridal hair style should set the bride apart from the others and be more intricate and beautiful than all other wedding hair styles chosen by members of the wedding party.

Once all bridal hair styles have been chosen, have a practice run where all of the ladies meet at the same salon and allow the stylists that are going to do the wedding party's hair on the big day have a crack at crafting the intricate wedding hair styles that you have chosen. While it may cost you a little bit of money to do this, it will save you a great deal of headache on the big day.

Choosing a Wedding Day Hairstyle

Many, if not all of current day wedding hair style are inspired by celebrities, such as the soft loose waves made popular by Jessica Simpson. Another red-carpet favorite (that is often requested by brides) is any variation of a low chignon - styled just above the nape of the neck (shown above). Brides-to-be are also opting for retro looks such as the classic up-do made famous by Audrey Hepburn in the much loved 1960's film "Breakfast at Tiffany's".
Whatever hairstyle you decide to wear on your wedding day, here are some helpful hints to consider along with suggestions that are intended to guide you in the process. Please keep in mind, there really are no set "right or wrong rules" in terms of wedding day hairstyles. Whichever way you decide to wear your hair on your wedding day should be what makes you feel the most beautiful!

Wearing Your Hair Down

If you are considering wearing your hair down, think about your hair's natural texture and length, as well as the month and season of your wedding. Typically fine hair that is longer than two inches past your shoulders will not hold well in hot humid weather. Most up-dos, on the other hand, will last until you take them down.

Bridal Veils

Bridal veils, depending on their length and shape, can sometimes interfere or conceal the beautiful wedding day hairstyle you had in mind. Many of today's brides wear a veil for only the ceremony. Afterwards the veil is removed to reveal their wedding hair style and decorative headpiece and/or hair jewelry. Thinking about whether or not you will be wearing a veil for your entire wedding day will help your stylist decide what type of hairstyle will be best. If you decide to wear your veil for the entire day, it is highly recommended that you choose a hairstyle that allows your veil to be placed below the hair design, so that it won't be obscured from view.

Fresh Flowers

Fresh flowers, both individual and wreaths, always look gorgeous and romantic on a bride. If you wish to wear fresh flowers, there are a few things you should investigate in advance. First, speak to your wedding florist and find out what types of flowers will be in season on your wedding day. Also, find out if the particular flowers you have in mind will last throughout your wedding - not all flowers will look fresh for 10 plus hours.
Additionally, size is important! A flower that is too large will overpower your beautiful wedding hair style, so keeping it simple is always best. A couple of good choices that look elegant and are long-lasting would be miniature white stephanotis and small orchids.

Hairpieces and Hair Extensions

If your hair is short or very fine and you are thinking about wearing a hairpiece or hair extensions, have a consultation first and make sure that your regular hairstylist is experienced in this field - not all of them are. Discuss your options and your budget with that hairstylist to decide if wearing a hairpiece or natural hair extensions will achieve your desired wedding hair style.

Hair Texture

Your hair's texture is another factor that can make or break a successful wedding hair style. I meet many brides with naturally very fine hair who want tight curls. Or, take the example of an African-American bride who wants a fine, silky-smooth looking wedding day hairdo. Most experienced hairstylists can work miracles with all hair types, but even then there is a limit to how well we can guarantee your hair will last if it has been greatly manipulated from its natural state.

Magazine Photograpy

When selecting your favorite hairstyling photographs from magazines consider why you like the photograph. Too often brides bring in the most beautiful photographs not realizing what it took to produce that image. Be realistic. Just because a hairstyle looks great on your favorite celebrity, doesn't mean it is the best choice for you. Most people do not realize what goes into most fashion magazine and editorial photo shoots. Most likely there was a team of at least 5 people, including the makeup artist, hairstylist, prop person, fashions stylist, manicurist, and assistants behind the scenes, not to mention the amount of retouching that was done in post production! That being said - please consider magazine photos as a guide and inspiration while keeping your options flexible.

Formal vs. Casual

The tone and theme of your wedding hair style can also play a role in helping you decide how to wear your hair on your wedding day. A sophisticated up-do may be more appropriate for a lavish formal evening wedding, whereas a soft chignon may be more suitable for a casual daytime wedding on the beach. Even wearing your hair down with fresh flowers designed in it may be the most appropriate style of all!

Can Bridesmaids Be Asked To Wear A Particular Hairstyle?

Whether the bride-to-be would like the bridal party to present a sense of uniformity or if each maid is assigned her own style, typically it is appropriate that the bride is able to request that her bridesmaids wear a particular wedding hair style.

Hopefully she explained this and other responsibilities to the bridal party before they committed to the responsibility. If she did not and it would cause a financial hardship to the bridesmaid, it should be discussed so that a compromise can be made or the bride may offer to pick up the tab.

If it is simply a matter of taste, most bridesmaids would comply with the bride’s wishes, after all it is her day. The maid can always restyle her hair to her liking after the ceremony and pictures. Talk it over, keep an open mind, and compromise – this shouldn’t ruin a perfect day.

Wedding is the special occasion in the lifetime. Comparatively it's very easy to find the perfect wedding dress than finding the perfect wedding hairstyle. Anybody would like to look the best for this very special event.

After selecting wedding dress you have to decide what kind of hair style you are going to opt...long, straight, curly, pulled up or down. You must select a style that will suit your shape of the face, the complexion, and the clothing. You must also feel comfortable with the hairstyle selected by you.

There are number of combinations available for doing wedding hairstyle. You may try curly hairstyle to get romantic look. You may also try spike and twist hair design but don't forget to select the hairstyle that respects your personality.

Before selecting your wedding hair style, you should ensure your coronet and veil that will suit your wedding hairstyle. For long floor length veil you must select the proper hairstyle to feel you confident.

You can wear the flower Crown or Wreath that is a circle of flowers or a combination of flowers and ribbons. The various options available for choosing hair design...from simple to sophisticated and can be worn with the hair up or down. The wreath is usually flexible so that it can easily fit to the shape of the head.

The hair band style can also be worn with the hair up or down. You can select from various kind of hair bands preferably studded with precious stones. You can wear it with or without the veil.

You can use coronets for wedding hair style. Coronets are studded with precious stones or pearls. You can use it with the hair up or down. This is very swanky hairstyle.

As a bride you must do rehearsal before getting prepared for final wedding hairstyle. I will recommend you to have a trim before 2-3 weeks to keep existing wedding hair style intact.

Go with natural hair style for wedding day

Choosing how you should look during a wedding can be very risky. If you were not advised by a professional, this is not the time to try on new make up and wedding hair style trends--unless you wanted to end up as one with the worst fashion.

So, to be on the safe side, it is better to enlist the help of a professional stylist to do your makeup and hair style.

Here are some tips to help you on what look you will be having on your wedding day.

* Choose natural-looking makeup, as you don't want to look heavily painted especially when people come to wish you well. However, you should also make sure that even if you are wearing natural-looking makeup, this still looks well when your picture is taken.
* Get a facial to help eliminate the stress in preparing for the wedding and to cleanse your skin, in preparation for the big day.
* Make sure that you have enough time to prepare your hair. Usually, you may need about six weeks before the wedding to make minor changes to your hair. If you will be changing your hair style, hair color, or length, you may need up to six months.
* Make an appointment with a hairdresser recommended by your family and friends, or with your own hairdresser. It is better to bring pictures of the dress, headpiece and the hairstyles that you would like to try. Also, discuss with the hairdresser what will be the appropriate color, texture and the style.
* If you are thinking of having your hair permed or relaxed, ask the hairstylist if he or she thinks this will not damage your hair. Damaged hair will not look good and will be difficult to style. If you wanted to try this, make sure that you still have enough time to experiment and to undo it if it doesn't look good.
* If you are thinking of dyeing your hair, consider if the color will compliment your skin color and the color of your eyes. It is better to ask the help and suggestions of a professional for this. When dyeing, use a temporary dye first.
* Your wedding hair style should go well with the cut of your gown. If you have a simple gown, choose an uncomplicated hairstyle. Choose a hairstyle that will be comfortable and will not be difficult to maintain since you will have a lot of things to take care of on the wedding day.
* If you have short hair, you may add highlights to enhance the richness. You may also have hair treatments or try products that will add shine. You can also try a multi-textured look. Flowers also look good on short hair.
* If you have a long hair, it is suggested that you wear your hair up for an elegant look and to minimize the need for maintaining it, since you will be busy the whole day.
